Daniel Christian has kept his cool in a manic final over to guide the Sydney Sixers to a last-ball win over the Brisbane Heat, chasing down 148 on the Gold Coast to jump back to the top of the BBL ladder.
Needing 62 runs off 36 balls, the Sixers improved to better than a run-a-ball as Christian (61 not out off 38) and Daniel Hughes (51 off 35) pounced in the power surge.
But Hughes' dismissal - caught in the deep off the impressive James Bazley (2-17 off three overs) sparked a collapse of 3-7, leaving Christian needing 11 runs off the final over.
He hit Xavier Barlett's first delivery for six but then refused an easy single off the next ball.
A dot ball off the next delivery swung the game back in the Heat's favour, Jack Wildermuth then dropping a tough chance as Christian added two more runs.

Christian somehow scampered for two to leave them one to win off the final ball, the former Heat all-rounder whipping a full toss over short fine leg to secure a topsy-turvy victory.
The Heat were on top at the midway point thanks to pressure-building spells from Jack Wildermuth (2-26) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (2-16).
That continued the theme of the night, Chris Lynn (56 off 44) scoring his slowest BBL half-century as the Heat struggled to hit top gear.
West Indian Carlos Brathwaite took four wickets for the Sixers, Jackson Bird (2-22) and Stephen O'Keefe (0-23) applying the early pressure as only Lewis Gregory (26 off 15) found his groove for the Heat.
The Sixers took all four points to return to the top of the table, while it was a costly defeat for the Heat who missed a chance to jump to third with a fourth straight win.
