Brandon Wright – “The steal of the century.”

With the official National Signing Day now in the books, Michigan State has it’s 2019 recruiting class set.  SpartansWire revisits our coverage, analysis, and commentary on the group of players that committed on Early National Signing Day with thoughts on individual players and the class as a whole.

Brandon Wright is from Euclid, Ohio and he’s 6’2″, 220 pounds.

To me, that makes Brandon Wright sound an awful lot like a college football player.

Here’s what we wrote about Brandon Wright on SpartansWire back on July 9th –

Matt Wenzel is one of the smart Experts and he compares Brandon Wright to Eddie George in this piece right here –

That’s a pretty decent person to be compared to as a football player, particularly when you’re still in high school.

Wright is big.

He’s fast.

When I watch the highlights of him as a high school football player, it’s obvious that he hits the hole with an explosive burst and then he is very good at running really fast (fast enough so that nobody can even come close to catching him, let alone tackle him).

If you watch his highlights closely enough, you can see him make a great play as a defensive end that results in him sacking the quarterback.

So, Brandon Wright is pretty athletic, too.

Lorenzo White was about as powerful of a running back as there’s ever been at Michigan State at hitting the hole with explosiveness.

But, at the risk of being struck by lightning, Lorenzo didn’t have break-away speed.

Brandon Wright has break-away speed.

Eddie George and Lorenzo White were good running backs.

Welcome to the Michigan State experience, Brandon Wright.

We’re looking forward to seeing you run like Lorenzo and/or Eddie George – especially when you and your future teammates take on the Buckeyes.
