Brandon Williams reminds Manchester United boss Solskjaer of Gary Neville

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tipped Brandon Williams to cope with the pressure of visiting Anfield as Manchester United prepare to face Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.

Williams, 19, started the season in United's academy, but has quickly risen through the ranks after impressing in the Europa League after Solskjaer used the group stages of the competition to hand opportunities to younger members of his squad.

The defender has continued to shine and has arguably become United's first-choice left-back ahead of Luke Shaw and former club captain Ashley Young, with the latter joining Inter Milan on Friday.

Following Williams' impressive display in the 1-0 FA Cup win over Wolves on Wednesday, another former United captain, Gary Neville, tweeted: "I like Brandon Williams.

"What I like about him specifically is he has that look in his eye of someone that would eat his opponents' nose to win the match.

"Keep going kid! Oh he can play football to which is always a bonus".

And Solskjaer has wasted no time in comparing the 19-year-old to Neville, saying of Williams: "I think Brandon has been absolutely outstanding since he came in

"Every challenge he has tackled head on.

"He's only 19 and he's made 12 starts and he reminds me so much of the mentality of Gary Neville

"I think he will enjoy going to Anfield, put it that way."

Speaking to MUTV after the win vs Wolves, Williams said of United's defence: "As long as we don't concede, we know we're going to score.

"If we do our job at the back and the full team puts the shift in, I'm sure we'll get the win like we did."
