Brandon Williams is lone 2016 draft pick on roster

The Arizona Cardinals have almost eliminated their entire 2016 draft class. After releasing defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, only one player remains.

Cornerback Brandon Williams, their third-round pick from that year, is all who is left, and his spot on the roster is tenuous at best.

The rest of the draft class?

The Cardinals didn’t have a second-round pick that year because they used it to acquire Chandler Jones. That has worked out.

Fourth-round pick Evan Boehm was cut last year before the season.

Fifth-round pick Marqui Christian was cut during the 2016 season and claimed by the L.A. Rams.

Cole Toner was their second fifth-round pick. He was cut in 2017.

Seventh-round pick Harlan Miller didn’t make the team out of camp but did play parts of two seasons with the team after being elevated from the practice squad.

If Williams is cut before the season begins, which is definitely a possibility, then in under four years the Cardinals will have burned through an entire draft class.

Williams is the group’s final hope, at least with the Cardinals. He currently is on PUP with a back injury.
