Brandon Stokley skipped his 10th anniversary to workout and watch basketball with Peyton Manning

During his time with the Denver Broncos, former quarterback Peyton Manning paid for several of his teammates to travel with him to Duke for offseason workouts each spring.

One of his teammates was former wide receiver Brandon Stokley, who spent time with Manning both with the Indianapolis Colts and Broncos. Manning had to use extra motivation — tickets to a Duke vs. North Carolina basketball game — to convince Stokley to go one year.

Stokley skipped his 10th anniversary to make the trip.

Stokley, 42, played with Manning from 2003-2006 (in Indianapolis) and again in 2012 (in Denver). The two-time Super Bowl champion (XXXV and XLI) hauled in 397 receptions for 5,339 yards and 39 touchdowns during his 15-year career.

Stokley helped the Broncos recruit Manning during the 2012 offseason, running routes for the QB in a Denver park. The Broncos rewarded him for his efforts by signing Stokley to a one-year deal.

Stokley retired following the 2013 NFL season and he now works as a radio host for 104.3 The Fan in Denver.
