Brandon Soppy's cryptic message has Celtic fans split as transfer target appears to 'clear out locker' at Rennes

Eagle-eyed Celtic fans have spotted a hint that Brandon Soppy could be on his way out of Rennes.

The defender, 19, is wanted by Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou and his social media activity looks promising for those hoping he arrives at Parkhead.

His latest Instagram story appears to show him packing up his belongings from his locker with two boxes sitting next to it.

It follows a cryptic message that translates to "God is the only one who will never disappoint you."

And on Monday night, another young right-back at the club, Lorenz Assignon, was awarded with a new contract until 2025.

For the moment they are only clues.

But fans are excited at the prospect of the young talent rocking up in time for the Champions League clash against Midtjylland next week and the start of the Premiership season to fill a void left by Jeremie Frimpong's January departure.

The social media post has fans speculating if he's on his way out with @aboutceltic Tweeting: "Soppy's Instagram story could be anything.

"It could be a delivery of sorts, it could be him clearing out his stuff. Certainly one to monitor."

@TheCelticWray was more confident: "Soppy clearing out his locker by the looks of it."

@CalMcl isn't so sure, however. He added: "Almost guaranteed to be his new boots being delivered for the season."
