Brandon Scherff, Sam Cosmi return to practice for Washington

The Washington Football Team could get a considerable boost ahead of their Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. All-Pro right guard Brandon Scherff and rookie right tackle Sam Cosmi returned to practice on Monday for Washington.

Scherff has missed the previous four games with a knee injury, while Cosmi has been sidelined for three weeks with an ankle injury. Their potential returns come at the perfect time for Washington, which lost stalwart center Chase Roullier for the season in Week 8.

Left guard Ereck Flowers was also at practice on Monday after injuring his leg in Week 8.

Wide receiver Dyami Brown and cornerback William Jackson III were also back on Monday. Tight end Logan Thomas is being monitored for a potential activation from injured reserve. Head coach Ron Rivera should have an update on Thomas by Wednesday.

The bad news for Washington is wide receiver Curtis Samuel remains sidelined. This issue doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. Washington needs to place Samuel on IR if he can’t practice this week.

Rivera recently stated he expects Samuel to help Washington in the second half of the season.

Overall, it was a good day for Washington. We’ll continue to monitor Thomas and his situation this week.
