Brandon Nimmo got sick after eating undercooked chicken he made himself, because Mets

Cooking, like baseball, or really anything for that matter, can be hard.

There are many ways to prepare food, countless dishes that can be plated, and endless amounts of techniques that can be taught.

But here’s one basic rule you should follow if you’re not comfortable in the kitchen – never, ever, ever undercook chicken. Keep that medium rare stuff for meats, not poultry.

Mets outfield Brandon Nimmo apparently learned that lesson the hard way this week as he got sick after failing to get that chicken  and missed a workout and a game.

Mets manager Mickey Callaway explained rather simply:

“He cooked some chicken and didn’t know how to cook, so he was throwing up all night,” Callaway said. “We have to teach him how to cook so he doesn’t miss any more games.”

While it’s gutsy to cook chicken without knowing how to cook chicken, we advise youth follow this advice: cook the breast to 165 degrees and the thigh to around 185. That way you won’t spend your night having everything on the inside of your body end up on the outside of your body.

The Mets are no strangers to weird injuries/illnesses. Just last season they lost pitcher Noah Syndergaard to hand, foot and mouth disease.
