Brandon Marshall sends perfect tweets after being cut

The Denver Broncos have opted not to pick up Brandon Marshall’s 2019 contract option, which essentially means the team will release him and allow him to become an unrestricted free agent in March.

Marshall said on Twitter that he wishes he hadn’t battled through injuries in recent years and emphasized that he will land on his feet.

Marshall then added some humor to the situation, asking if any NFL teams were in need of a wide receiver.

Marshall plays linebacker but there’s another Brandon Marshall — who also spent part of his career in Denver — who plays wide receiver. Many fans and networks have confused the two players on Twitter, including NFL Network and ESPN.

Marshall, 29, missed five games last season and five games in 2016 with various injuries. He was healthy for all 16 games in 2017 and recorded 106 tackles and three sacks, marking one of the best seasons of his career.

Josey Jewell, who was selected by the Broncos in the fourth round of last year’s draft, will take Marshall’s place in the starting lineup.
