Brandon Jenner has revealed he only saw parent Caitlyn "half a dozen times" during his childhood after Caitlyn married Kris Jenner.
Brandon, 38, wrote about their strained relationship in a book of essays written by the children of famous people, called To Me, He Was Just Dad .
He claims his parent Caitlyn, 70, only saw family as a business and they met up for the sole purpose of photo oportunities.
Caitlyn married Kris in 1991, and before that Caitlyn was in a relationship with Linda Thompson, with whom she shares Brandon and Brody Jenner, 36, and they split in 1989.
Brandon refers to Caitlyn as a "he" presumably because he is discussing a time before her transition, and she was still known as Bruce at the time.
“I didn’t see my father more than half a dozen times between the ages eight and 25,” wrote Brandon, according to Page Six.
He continued: “After Dad met and married Kris, family became a business for him, and I stayed away for most of my teenage years.
"I didn’t want to be a part of their dynamic. I know now, though, that Dad was pretty unhappy in that house and felt like he wasn’t treated well," he added.
Caitlyn has previously explained in interviews she was not as involved in her children's lives as much as she would have liked because she was dealing with depression linked to her gender identity battle.
But the parent and son are now closer than ever, and Brandon told HollywoodLife in 2019: "It’s great. It’s really good. [Caitlyn and I are] close.”
Caitlyn also has daughters Kendall, 24, and Kylie, 22, with ex wife Kris, as well as daughter Cassandra Marino, 39, and son Burt Jenner, 40, with ex-wife Chrystie Jenner.
