Brandon Ingram undergoes thoracic outlet surgery, expected to make full recovery

Following week after week of bad news and bad results, the Los Angeles Lakers appeared to get some good news about third year forward Brandon Ingram.

Ingram underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome that caused the blood clot in his right arm, which was found last week by the Lakers staff. The Lakers announced on Saturday morning that they expected Ingram to make a full recovery.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the surgery was done after a procedure to remove the blood clot itself. But the surgery was done to alleviate the cause of the blood clots, meaning that it won’t be a recurring issue.

The news is huge for Ingram, as many speculated whether the clot was the start of a consistent blood-clotting issue. The type of thing that has prematurely ended the careers of Chris Bosh and Mirza Teletovic, due to them needing to be on blood-thinning medication. But luckily it appears that doctors have found the cause, giving the Lakers and Ingram some much-needed positive news.
