Brandon Ingram out for the season with blood clot in arm

That sound you hear is the Lakers tank getting into another gear. With the team realizing that they’ve come up short of making the postseason, they’re being extra cautious with a key piece of their team who is suddenly dealing with a scary diagnosis.

The Lakers announced on Saturday morning that Brandon Ingram has a Deep Venous Thrombosis, more commonly known as a blood clot, in his arm. Due to the condition, Ingram will miss the rest of the season. He had previously sat out the last two games for the Lakers with a shoulder strain.

Obviously, we all hope the best for Ingram that this is only a one-time situation with the blood clot. They’re a very serious condition that can lead to complications and developing blood clots again caused the end of Chris Bosh’s career.

Also, in the basketball sense, it’s tough for Ingram’s season to end after he had finished the past few months playing so well. He averaged 20 points, six rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting over 51 percent from the field. He also extended his range out to three more often, taking 2 3-pointers per game and making 34.5% of them.
