Brandon Allen has clean game in Broncos’ 24-19 win over Browns

Denver Broncos quarterback Brandon Allen didn’t make any big mistakes in the team’s 24-19 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon. In his first NFL start, Allen had no turnovers.

Allen threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Courtland Sutton (which was a brilliant catch by Sutton) and another touchdown to tight end Noah Fant, who did most of the work on a 75-yard score.

After a Brandon McManus field goal, Denver led 17-12 late in the third quarter before running back Phillip Lindsay ran 30 yards for a score, extending the Broncos lead to 24-12. That touchdown proved to be enough for the win as Cleveland scored just one more touchdown.

Lindsay finished the day with nine carries for 92 yards and a score. Allen finished the game with 193 passing yards, two touchdowns and a 125.6 passer rating. Allen also rushed for 15 yards.

Up next for Denver is a bye week followed by a road game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11. Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock (thumb) is expected to return to practice after the team’s bye.
