Branden Albert wants to play again, lands on Jaguars' reserve-retired list

Branden Albert's change of heart does not mean he will play for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Four days after the offensive lineman informed the NFL team on July 31 that he planned to retire, he approached it about a possible return, according to a Jaguars news release Tuesday. The team has put Albert, who was acquired from the Miami Dolphins in March for a seventh-round draft pick, on the reserve-retired list.

That designation was agreed upon mutually after the Jags and Albert, 32, met Monday, according to the news release.

Albert, 32, was drafted with the 15th overall pick in 2008 by the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent six seasons with the Chiefs, then three with the Dolphins. Albert was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, including with Miami after the 2015 season.
