Plans have been approved for a cocktail bar to replace an estate agents on a high street in a Nottinghamshire town. The Liquid Lounge bar is situated at 23 High Street in Hucknall, in a unit previously occupied by Donna Rose estate agents.
It's due to open this weekend after Ashfield District Council gave the go-ahead to the venue, subject to conditions such as the prohibition of music. The bar plans to open at 2pm to 10pm from Sunday to Friday, and 12pm to 11pm on Saturday.
Documents submitted on behalf of Ashley Moulson, the man behind the bid, say the bar would be a "stylish and welcoming drinking establishment".

"The Town Centre has seen the demise of several established public houses over the years but has also seen an upsurge in small, free house micro-bars," they read. "This would hint that there must be a demand for this type of establishment within the town centre.
"The town's dynamics for socializing has certainly changed over the years. Historically, the town has always been a place offering patrons numerous venues to drink and socialize.
"Sadly, many of the familiar pubs and bars have gone. Either demolished to make way for shops or such like or converted into HMO’s. To survive in the current economic climate, the remaining pubs and bars within the town centre and its outskirts have had no choice but to change with the times."
