A brand new Lidl supermarket has opened at the old Beechdale swimming baths site.
The new store opened its doors on Thursday, October 1, at a new retail park off Beechdale Road.
Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Dominic Bryan, previously said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Nottingham.
"It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
Around 40 new jobs have been created for the local community, Nottinghamshire Live previously reported.
The store has a 1,410m² sales area and includes an in-store bakery, longer-style tills, customer toilets, baby changing facilities and parking for cars and bicycles.
Lidl says it has a range of social distancing measures to help maintain a safe store environment for staff and customers.
These include floor markings, reminding customers of the importance of maintaining a two-metre distance from each other when shopping, along with regular tannoy announcements.
The Beechdale swimming baths shut in 2015 after Nottingham City Council opened the £16 million Harvey Hadden Sports Village, which has its own swimming facilities.
The dishevelled former bath house, built in the 1970s, was demolished in 2017.
The site sat empty until work began in earnest last year.
