Brand new £5,000 hot tub falls 60ft from crane and crashes into family garden

This is the moment a brand new £5,000 hot tub crashed 60ft into the garden of a home in front of horrified onlookers.

Witness described how the hot tub made a "loud crack" as it hit the ground.

The hapless builders had attempted to maneuver the item into position with a crane in soggy conditions.

The incident happened in Swansea, at around 12.20pm on July 13, reports WalesOnline.

A loud scream is heard echoing though the street as the hot tub plummeted to the ground below.

The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I watched the whole thing. I saw the crane right over the top of the house and thought 'what are they doing there?'.

"I saw they started lifting one of those big hot tubs over the house.

"It was one of those nice ones with wood around it, not one of those cheap rubber ones you just get in the shop."

He explained that the hot tub started to tilt as it moved over the roof of the property.

"It had a guide rope to stop it slipping, but the whole thing tilted at a 40 degree angle and slid straight down.

"It landed in their garden and just missed the porch and house," said the witness.

"It made a hell of a crack, it could have gone straight through the roof."

He added: "I heard that the hot tub had maybe been bought by another neighbour before this happened."
