Brainwavz M2 earphones - review

What is a driver to do at journey’s end, when you kill the ignition... and the music dies too?

To keep the beats going in hotel room, campsite or on the hoof, earphones stashed in the glovebox are the answer. Brainwavz specialises in listening solutions including their latest M2 in-ear earphones, aimed at people on the move.

The £45 all-metal M2s are costly compared with - say - Apple’s own earpods, which perform well for the money. Well-built, the Brainwavz M2s are also supplied in a tough, rather chic pouch and come with different-sized ear inserts.

To get a truly satisfying bass response you may need to use the smallest insert - and push well in. Job done. The top notes sound good, although the mid-range tones could do with more punch and clarity.

The cables are usefully long at 1.3 metres, but do not include a separate volume control. They feel as though they are built to last, as they should for the price.
