An Anfield season ticket may be given to a Liverpool fan who was left disabled after suffering brain damage in an accident.
In a specialist court, lawyers presented the idea to a judge who is overseeing litigation relating to the man's care plan.
Mr Justice Hayden heard that the man, who is in a care home, suffered serious injurious about a decade ago as a result of an accident when in his teens.
His solicitor, who manages the compensation the man received after the accident, is aiming to buy two tickets for next season.
Barrister Simon Crabtree, who was representing the solicitor, said the hope was that the man would benefit from regularly watching Liverpool games with a relative.
Mr Crabtree said the man had been a promising footballer before he was injured and was a keen Liverpool fan.
He outlined the plan as Mr Justice Hayden oversaw the latest in a series of hearings in the Court of Protection, where issues relating to people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions are considered, in London.
He said the solicitor hoped to contact Liverpool in the near future to see if season tickets were available.
The judge said he "wholeheartedly applauded" the idea.
He had considered a number of aspects of a care package at the latest hearing and said the man could not be identified in media reports of the case.
