Brahim Diaz on the Real Madrid bench for Copa del Rey tie with Leganes

Real Madrid’s new signing Brahim Diaz has been named as a substitute for Los Blancos’ Copa del Rey last-16 first leg clash at home to Leganes tonight .

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, who was signed from Man City in a €17 million deal on Sunday and unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu the following day, has been given clearance to feature after the paperwork went through in time.

Coach Santiago Solari said on Tuesday that the player would make his debut if everything was finalised, so Diaz can expect to feature at some stage this evening.

Casemiro, Fede Valverde and Dani Ceballos start in midfield for Real, with Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema and Lucas Vazquez further forward.

Keylor Navas starts in goal, while there are opportunities for Sergio Reguilon, Alvaro Odriozola and Nacho at the back.

Real Madrid are currently missing a number of players through injury, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois the latest to be sidelined. Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio and Toni Kroos are also out.
