Braga under fire ahead of Rangers clash as Porto boss berates rivals over dodgy pitch

Braga have been taken to task over the state of their pitch ahead of February's Europa League showdown with Rangers .

The second leg of the last 32 tie will take place at Braga's Municipal Stadium next month.

But the condition of Braga 's patchy playing surface has been hammered ahead of Steven Gerrard and his side heading to Portugal.

New Braga manager Ruben Amorim made history this week when he became the first manager in the club's history to win his first four games in charge after they defeated Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese League Cup semi-finals to reach the Final this weekend against Porto, which will be played at Braga's stadium.

But Porto boss Sergio Conceicao admits he's concerned about the pitch.

He said: "I am not a gardener and I don't know who is responsible for the maintenance of Braga's pitch.

"But it's been in poor condition for a few weeks now.

"The players told me it was very difficult to stand up and get a grip on the pitch.

"It will be difficult for them, but that's part of the game I suppose.

"There's nothing more we can do except hope it improves somehow in a couple of days."
