Braga react to Rangers draw as former star Alan hails 'fervent' Ibrox fans

Former Braga winger Alan has praised Rangers and insists their Europa League clash will be an exciting and close affair.

And he admits he can't wait to see his old side in front of the passionate Ibrox crowd after experiencing it in the past.

Allan played for Maritimo when the sides met in 2004 and was at Porto when the sides met in the 2005 Champions League.

The 40-year-old retired in 2017 after nine years with Braga and currently works for the club as director of football.

Braga sit ninth in the Portuguese top flight at present but topped their Europa League group over English side Wolves.

And he expects it to be another exciting game when they face Rangers in February - and expects a tough game after Steven Gerrard's men beat Porto in the group.

He said: “We know the value of Rangers, it's a history of European football, a team with fervent fans and a very tough opponent. We are excited, very honored and eager to continue the great European campaign we have been doing,

They will certainly be two great games. We saw the value of Rangers for the great games they played against FC Porto."
