Braga dealt another blow as Rangers' Euro rivals manager hunt suffers setback

Rangers' Europa League foes Braga are facing a sweat to appoint their next manager because Ruben Amorim does not have the necessary coaching badges.

Steven Gerrard 's men face the Portuguese outfit in the Last 32 of the competition in February, with the first leg in Glasgow.

But toiling Braga axed manager Ricardo Sa Pinto this week after a disappointing domestic campaign and replaced him with 34-year-old former Benfica and Portugal star Amorim, who was in charge of their B team.

However, they've stumbled into a major problem because the new boss doesn't have the required Level Four coaching qualifications issued by the Portuguese FA with the Rangers fixture looming large.

And he will be forbidden to shout instructions from their dug-out or even sign the team sheets until he completes his badges.

Braga have been forced to use their goalkeeping coach, Jorge Vital, as their designated coach for future games until they can fast track Amorim through his courses.

The new manager has yet to be introduced to the media after the shock sacking of Sa Pinto.
