Bradley Welsh's heartbroken nephew pays emotional tribute to murdered Trainspotting star

The nephew of Trainspotting 2 star Bradley Welsh has paid a heartbroken tribute to his "remarkable" uncle.

The actor and charity worker, 48, was shot dead by a "tanned" assassin on his doorstep in Edinburgh's Chester Street on Wednesday evening.

The Hibs fan's partner and daughter were just yards away inside their home at the time.

An outpouring of tributes has followed after details of his death emerged, including by Trainspotting author and pal Irvine Welsh.

Now, the actor's nephew Jake Welsh has shared an emotional tribute along with a reference to Hibee favourite 'Sunshine on Leith' and the caption "RIP Uncle Brad".

He was wearing a baseball cap and was casually dressed.

It’s understood some witnesses told police the suspect was black.

But one eyewitness told the Record they thought the shooter may have been wearing make-up to give him an “Asian appearance” and disguise his identity.

Welsh played gangland kingpin Doyle in T2.

He was a past British ABA Lightweight boxing champion and has run charity projects in the city to help young people stay fit and out of trouble through his Holyrood Boxing Gym.
