Bradley Welsh murder rap as Sean Orman appears in court over shooting of Trainspotting star

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering Trainspotting actor Bradley Welsh .

The 48-year-old was shot as he walked down stairs to his Edinburgh flat on April 17.

Police confirmed on Monday that a 28-year-old man had been charged in connection with the actor's death.

Sean Orman appeared in Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors charged him with three offences under the Firearms Act 1968 in connection with ex-boxer Mr Welsh's death in Chester Street.

Orman was also accused of assault to severe injury, permanent impairment, danger to life and attempted murder.

Those allegations relate to an incident in Pitcairn Grove, Oxgangs, in March during which David McMillan, 48, and his son, also David, 22, both suffered blade injuries.

Orman made no plea and was remanded in custody.

He is expected to reappear withing eight days.
