Bradley Welsh murder cops cordon off car park in Balerno, Edinburgh

Police have closed off a car park in the Balerno are of Edinburgh as part of their investigations into the murder of Trainspotting 2 star Bradley Welsh.

He was shot dead outside his basement flat in the capital’s New Town in April.

Earlier this month, a 28-year-old man was charged with his murder.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in the Balerno area of Edinburgh as part of ongoing inquiries into the murder of Bradley Welsh on 17 April 2019.

"Bavelaw Road Car Park is currently closed and the public are thanked for their cooperation during this time."

The funeral of Bradley Welsh will take place on June 7 (Daily Record)

Bradley, who left a partner and a daughter aged eight, won the role of a gangland boss in T2 Trainspotting after director Danny Boyle visited his boxing gym.

The former boxer’s family have announced his funeral is to be held on Friday, June 7, at Mortonhall Crematorium
