Bradley Walsh speechless as Chaser Darragh Ennis makes connection between contestants

Bradley Walsh was once for lost for words while presenting The Chase.

In Wednesday night's episode of the ITV show, host Bradley was in the studio with players Tudor, Henry, Mary and Liz.

New Chaser Darragh Ellis was the quizzer to beat with contestant Mary facing him first.

Bradley spoke to Mary beforehand, where she revealed she was into cocktail making which Darragh immediately addressed in their head to head.

"Hello, Mary! Considering the contestants’ names today, you’ve got a very appropriate hobby," began Darragh.

"You really are Bloody Mary,” he quipped, referencing the popular cocktail.

Tudor Monarch Queen Mary I of England earned the nickname Bloody Mary for the number of protestants that were burned at the stake during her five year reign.

Bradley went into a mock panic after Darragh noted the connection between the contestants' names.

"I've done it again!" he cried.

“Tudor, Liz, Henry, Mary - what’s the matter with me? Pay attention!” he added, slamming the podium in front of him.

Putting his back to the camera, he then asked: "Isn’t this show a wonderful thing, kids?

"Whilst you’re having your fish fingers, kings and queens of the Tudor era… brilliant, fantastic."

After more than 11 years on ITV, The Chase welcomed a brand new quizmaster to the show in November in the form of Darragh Ennis.

The Irishman, 47, was previously a contestant himself where he impressed with his general knowledge.

Outside of being excellent at quizzes, Darragh is a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University - specialising in the study of the brains of insects.

His first appearance on the show broke records with a whopping 4.9million people tuning at tea time to watch his debut.
