Bradley Walsh says Anne Hegerty insult to Chase contestant was 'unnecessary'

Bradley Walsh told Anne Hegerty her insult to a contestant on The Chase was 'unnecessary'.

Abby, Shauna, Matt and Roger joined forces with the hope of winning thousands of pounds.

Up first was Abby, who was hoping to take a trip to New Zealand.

The Lord of the Rings fan was favoured by Anne Hegerty but that didn't stop The Governess from eliminating her.

Shona had better luck, securing £6,000 in her head to head, followed by a further £4,000 from Matt.

But hoping to add to the prize pot was Roger.

The retired aviation worker was hoping to whisk his wife away on a nice holiday.

Roger performed well in the cash builder, winning £5,000.

But he then had to face Anne Hegerty in the head to head.

Aiming to scare her opponent, Anne said: "I thought it was a rather nervous five.

"I'm thinking if you fly, like you quiz, better pack a parachute."

Bradley Walsh said: "That's unnecessary."

And Roger said: "A bit harsh."

Bradley said: "Let's spread our wings mate, let's fly home."

Unfortunately, Roger did not make it to the final, with The Governess eliminating him in a one question shootout.
