Bradley Walsh's comment to Anne Hegerty about Chase contestant backfires

Bradley Walsh was left uninspired by a contestant on The Chase, joking that they had 'no chance' of beating Anne Hegerty.

Kathryn, Dave, Adam and Lucy were all on the show hoping to win thousands of pounds.

Up first was full-time mum Kathryn.

The 42-year-old started strong, earning £6000 in the cash builder.

Whilst she was offered a lot more in the head to head, Kathryn stuck with £6000 and made it through the head to head with ease.

Dave from Rhondda Valley was the second contestant to face The Governess.

The bus driver matched Kathryn's £6000 and once again made it through to the final.

With the first two contestants performing so well, host Bradley Walsh was keen to get all four contestants through to the last round.

He asked the third player Adam: "Will you beat The Chaser?"

Adam, looking rather nervous, said: "Why not?"

However, Bradley wanted more confidence, and said: "That's not what I want to hear."

He repeated his question, prompting Adam to give a more enthusiastic answer.

But Bradley still wasn't happy, he said: "He's got no chance."

And Anne added: "[He's] absolutely terrified."

However, Adam exceeded Bradley's expectations, winning £5000 for his team and taking their prize fund up to £17,000.
