Bradley Walsh quizzes Chase player over his mysterious job

Bradley Walsh was quick to question a Chase contestant tonight as he tried to keep his job title a mystery.

Tonight saw Joe, 23, from Stockport chat to host Bradley before he went up against The Beast, Mark Labbett, who was tonight's Chaser

Joe told Bradley that he was a civil servant, Bradley said: "Yeah but doing what?"

Joe said: "I can't tell you, I really wish I could say..."

Bradley said: "You're a spy aren't you" and Joe gave him a cheeky smile.

Aside from his job vegetarian Joe said he loved to cook and that mushroom risotto was his speciality.

He also loved to get involved in campaigns, especially those to do with helping homeless people.

If he won some cash Joe said he wanted to return to Guadalupe as he had to cut his holiday there short last year.

Bradley asked him why it had been cut short and Joe joked: "Well being a spy it's tricky."

And viewers at home were quick to pick up on Joe's reluctance to reveal his job and speculated on what he might do.

Paul P said: "A real spy would have a fake job (wink emoji)"

Nigel Haworth said: "Wasn’t Joe identified as H last night?"

Jas Judge said: "Is he H?"

Nathan Blake said: "007 alert!!"

Joe managed to score an impressive £6,000 in his cash builder and went onto play for that amount in the head to head against The Beast.

And thankfully Joe managed to bring the cash back to his team, building on the £7,000 already put in the pot by his teammates.

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
