The family of Bradley Lowery celebrated their very first Christmas with their new daughter and "beautiful princess" Gracie-Mae.

Six-year-old Bradley tragically lost his fight to a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer in 2017 with his parents establishing the Bradley Lowery Foundation in his memory.

His parents, Gemma and Carl Lowery, welcomed their daughter, Gracie-Mae, into the world at 12.19am on Saturday, November 6 via an emergency C section at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

Now seven weeks old, Gracie enjoyed her very first Christmas at home with mum Gemma admitting the festive period was "bittersweet".

Although it was Gracie's very first Christmas, Gemma said it was her last one with her "amazing" dad as he has terminal cancer.

Posting on Facebook Gemma said: "I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Mine was bitter-sweet.

Bradley Lowery's parents shared an adorable new photo of their daughter (Bradley Lowery Foundation)

"My first Christmas with our beautiful princess Gracie-Mae but it was my last Christmas with my amazing dad as he has terminal cancer.

"As a family, we made the most of it and had a lovely day making special memories that will last a lifetime."

The County Durham couple also shared a new photo of Gracie saying she had brought "so much joy, laughter, and happiness" into their lives.

The post continued: "The photo is of Gracie seven weeks old on Christmas Day she is getting so big our little chubby chops.

"She has brought so much joy, laughter, and happiness back into our lives."

The family previously shared photos on Facebook showing Gracie-Mae wearing a bodysuit with the words: "Hand picked for Earth by my brother in heaven."
