Bradley Cooper has finally spoken up about the use of a plastic baby doll in American Sniper.
Cooper, who played Navy Seal Chris Kyle in the Clint Eastwood directed film, appeared on The Ellen Show this week and laughed about the incongruous use of a toy in an Academy Award nominated film.
"I literally, I couldn't believe it," said Cooper, who wiggled the fake baby's arm at one point during a scene to make it look more real. "I couldn't believe that we were working with the plastic baby. I was just like, 'This is nuts.'"
Cooper luckily took the acting in stride, joking with Ellen "Eat your heart out, 'Muppets."
The comments come hot on the heels of those from American Sniper co-star Sienna Miller, who also addressed the prop on The Ellen Show last week. "It looked like something from 'Alien,'" said the actress.
The prop was used due to a combination of the film’s relatively modest budget and strict filming laws in California preventing infants under six months working for more than 20 minutes a day.
