Bradley Cooper responds to fury from Republicans for attending Democratic National Convention

An incredulous Bradley Cooper has responded to Republicans furious at the actor for appearing at the Democratic National Convention.

His performance as Chris Kyle in American Sniper was apparently so convincing many believed he was a Republican voter.

But then the camera switched to the star-studded audience who have largely come out in force behind Hillary Clinton as she goes head-to-head with Donald Trump, and spotted Cooper, who was sat with his girlfriend, the Sports Illustrated model, Irina Shayk.

The result was fury on Twitter, a backlash addressed by James Corden on the Late Late Show.

Cooper also struggled to comprehend the reaction. “I was not expecting that,” he said. “I didn’t get ‘their point’. I took my mom, and we went to hear the President speak.

“It was just unbelievable. The Republicans were up in arms that I was there listening to the President speak.”
