Bradford crash: Pedestrians hit by vehicle in 'serious incident' taken to hospital

Two pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle on Killinghall Road have been taken to hospital.

The incident, which took place close to the junction with Leeds Old Road around 6pm, caused traffic congestion and delays in the area close to Bradford Moor Park.

Police say that the two injured people are being treated for minor injuries and they are hopeful that the road should reopen soon.

A West Yorkshire Police  spokesperson said:

"A road traffic collision which involved two pedestrians has taken place on Killinghall Road.

"The pedestrians were struck by a vehicle at the scene.

"They are now both in hospital receiving treatment for minor injuries at this time.

"The road remains closed as a precaution."

Emergency services were called to the scene around 6pm and traffic heading north and south was stopped on the A6177.

Congestion spread from First Avenue to the B6381 Barkerend Road.

Stay tuned to our live blog for details on when the road reopens.
