Brad Pitt's sweet comment about Jennifer Aniston as he's caught watching her pick up award backstage

There was a lot of excitement at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night as we watched Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's heartwarming meeting.

Fans were convinced the exes would be getting back together after seeing their sweet embrace.

But perhaps the sweetest moment of the night actually happened backstage as proud Brad watched on as Jen picked up her award.

After coming offstage from picking up his award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, he managed to catch Jen collecting the next award.

She won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her part in Apple TV's The Morning Show.

Instead of chatting with the press to discuss his achievement, Brad could be seen standing right in front of the flat-screen TV as a teary Jen, thanked her friends and co-stars.

At one point of the speech he evens mouths 'Wow!" and points at the screen - it's hard to believe the two of them are still just friends.

And once she comes off stage, things only get hotter.

The two were seen greeting each other with a pretty amorous embrace, giving each other their congratulations on their successes.

At one point Jen can be seen busily talking to other guests, whilst Brad kept his grip firmly on her hand.

Brad spoke about being single in his acceptable speech, joking about adding the new award to his Tinder profile.

Fans couldn't cope with the cuteness of the evening and took to social media to pray for them to rekindle their love.

One tweeted: "So if Brad and Jen could just hurry up and already make everyone’s 2020 by getting back together that would be great!

Another added: "These Brad and Jen photos are melting my heart."

During a chat with Entertainment Tonight 's Keltie Knight and Nischelle Turner Jen, addressed the excitement surrounding their reunion.

She said: "It's hysterical," referring to the pair's relationship.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, celebrating 13 of the most outstanding performances of the year in film and television.

Since 1995, the SAG Awards have been recognised as one of the industry’s most prized honors.
