Brad Pitt's first job included dressing as a chicken and chauffeuring strippers

Brad Pitt had dreams of making it in Hollywood since his teens but his route to being a big name in Tinsel Town was not a straight forward one.

The 57-year-old Oscar winning actor, who hit the heights in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, found his first taste of California was not exactly what he was expecting.

Brad initially wanted to be an art director and was studying at the University of Missouri but the pull of being in Hollywood became too much.

He said that movies were "a portal into different worlds” and just weeks from graduating from college, Brad decided to drop out and pursue his acting dreams, moving to Los Angeles.

Brad appeased his parents by enrolling into the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena but he decided to take acting lessons rather than pursue a more academic line.

At this time, Brad took his first steps into employment and while he is now praised for getting into a character on the big screen, he had to use his powers of imagination to bring to life a giant rooster as he had to dress as a chicken to lure punters into a restaurant.

While doing this, he was also required to be a chauffeur, driving a limousine that took strippers to different destinations, for a bit of extra cash.

Explaining what he had to do, Brad said previously: "My job was to drive them to bachelor parties and things.

"I’d pick them up, and at the gig I’d collect the money, play the bad Prince tapes and catch the girls’ clothes.

"It was not a wholesome atmosphere, and it got very depressing.”

While reflecting on his journey from college to Hollywood, the actor said: “When I left Missouri I wasn’t ready to call it quits as far as getting out into the world.

"It wasn’t leaving something behind, it was heading for something that was nascent and ill-defined.

"I did not know what it would be when I got to L.A., and to me not knowing that has always been the most exciting thing about making a trip.”

Brad said that the "strippers changed [his] life" and one of the girls he met introduced him to Roy London’s acting classes.

This led to him landing uncredited acting parts and path to eventual superstardom.

Speaking about his time at the acting classes, Brad said: "I sat in on a few classes, and they just felt a little guru-ish and just didn’t feel right to me.

"Until I met Roy, He was tough, lovely, compassionate, tough. I give him full credit for pointing me in this direction…I learned so much from that man. I miss him."
