Brad Pitt jokes that Quentin Tarantino is so 'verbose' he 'needs cocaine to stop talking'

Brad Pitt jokingly called Quentin Tarantino "the only guy I know who needs cocaine to stop talking” at a recent awards ceremony.

The actor gave a friendly introduction to the director at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Tuesday.

Tarantino won Best Screenplay for Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, in which Pitt plays stunt double Cliff Booth.

According to Page Six, Pitt presented Tarantino with the award and described him as “very verbose”, adding: ”He’s the only guy I know who needs cocaine to stop talking.”

He also reportedly quipped that Tarantino “grew up in a sad and desolate part of Torrance known as Torrance” (referring to Tarantino’s childhood city in Los Angeles County) and said that the filmmaker has a “really good heart”.

Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman was crowned Best Picture at the NYFCC Awards on Tuesday, while the Safdie brothers took Best Director for Uncut Gems.

Lupita Nyong’o took Best Actress for her performance in Us and Antonio Banderas won Best Actor for his role in Pain and Glory.

Best Supporting Actress went to Little Women‘s Laura Dern, while Joe Pesci took Best Supporting Actor for The Irishman.
