Brad Pitt getting ripped for new role and 'learning to kick and do knife-fighting'

Brad Pitt is getting ripped for action in his next movie.

The 57-year-old actor is building up his physique to the levels of 1999 hit Fight Club, so he can flaunt his taut torso on screen.

He is cast as a knife-wielding hitman called Ladybug in Bullet Train.

An insider said: “Brad is in the process of retraining and rewiring his body for a stunt-filled action film, which he hasn’t had to do in years.

“It’s risky due to his age now and also because he’ll try to do his own stunts. He’s learning to punch, kick and do knife fighting.

"There’s a lot of hallway combat so it means tight spaces. It requires him to crank up his cardio, stretching, weight training and yoga to maximum capacities.

“He has to turn into a real athlete for this and it’s not just about how he looks.

"It’s about endurance, agility and hitting his marks with absolute precision.”

Pitt showed off his new physique last week on holiday in the Turks and Caicos Islands, as he went snorkelling with rocker pal Flea, 58, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

His new film centres on a group of assassins on a train in Tokyo.
