Dr. Anthony Fauci's star continues to rise _ or at least his kind-of lookalike's.
Hollywood golden boy Brad Pitt earned his second-ever Emmy nomination Tuesday for his bit role on "Saturday Night Live" as the lifesaving head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
The brief appearance, barely three minutes, was a dream come true for Fauci, who has become a familiar name during the coronavirus pandemic.
"First, I'd like to thank all the older women in America who have sent me supportive, inspiring and sometimes graphic emails," Pitt said as Fauci during the April show before taking off his costume to thank the real health expert.
Fauci praised the appearance days later, saying Pitt did "a great job."
Pitt was previously nominated for just one Emmy, guest actor in a comedy series for "Friends." He lost to Anthony LaPaglia in "Frasier."
