Brad Pitt congratulates graduating students at his old university in special video

Brad Pitt had a very sweet message of support for graduating students at his alma mater Missouri State University.

The Hollywood actor, 56, congratulated Class of 2020 with the university's president Clif Smart and the mascot Boomer the Bear in a special video filmed at home.

The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star said: "Hi everyone, Brad here from quarantine with a shout out to the graduating class of Missouri State University!

"It must be very strange doing this in these trying times, but no, we’re rooting for you. Our money’s on you to make this world a better place."

The university's president added: "Our students always say that Missouri State University and Springfield feel like home. It’s just a place where people always remember where they’ve come from."

The university shared the clip on Twitter, writing: "We have one more surprise for our #BearGrads: A special message from one of Springfield’s own. Thanks, Brad."

Before becoming an Oscar-winning Hollywood heartthrob, Brad took up acting lessons in LA and worked odd jobs to make ends meet.

The actor recently did his bit to cheer up fans amid the pandemic as he took part in John Krasinski's Some Good News, in which celebs spread positivity to people around the world from the comfort of their own home.

The actor appeared in a prom-themed episode of the project, presenting a very unusual weather report for the show's two million subscribers.

Looking up at the palm trees and grey skies above him, Brad said: "It looks, uh...good. Yeah."

Brad's report was sneakily borrowed from The Jim Jeffries Show - a series that was shown on Comedy Central.
