Brad Marchand cost the Bruins a game with the worst penalty shootout ‘attempt’ you’ll ever see

The National Hockey League made penalty shootouts a thing at the end of tie games way back in the 2005-06 season and while I admittedly haven’t seen every attempt since then, I do feel comfortable in saying that Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand had the worst attempt in NHL history on Monday night.

How can I feel so sure about something as serious as this? Well, I do know one of the most important things about attempting a penalty shot is bringing the puck down the ice with you, which is what Marchand failed to do against the Philadelphia Flyers.

And it led to a loss for his his team.

Check out this incredibly embarrassing fail by Marchand:

He forgot the puck! But since he touched the puck it was ruled an attempt. The Flyers won the game on the next attempt.

Ouch.
