Brad Biggs' Week 8 NFL power rankings

Last week's ranking in parentheses.

1. Patriots 6-1 (1). LeGarrette Blount carrying a considerably larger workload than he has before and delivering with 566 yards and career-high eight touchdowns.

2. Seahawks 4-1-1 (3). Pete Carroll doesn't want to rely on hurdling the long snapper on field-goal attempts to hang tight in any more games.

3. Cowboys 5-1 (4). After a week off, they've got an NFC East showdown with the Eagles, who have won in their last three trips to AT&T Stadium.

4. Broncos 5-2 (7). Best thing that could happen to QB Trevor Siemian as Broncos got both running backs C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker rolling.

5. Vikings 5-1 (2). If Jake Long is going to help fill a void at tackle, he'll need to look a lot better than he did in rusty showing vs. Eagles.

6. Packers 4-2 (8). The offense moved the ball at will in second half against Bears but the big plays just aren't there. Something isn't clicking.

7. Steelers 4-3 (6). Fill-in QB Landry Jones wasn't bad and these guys just might have a rematch with the Patriots later on with Ben Roethlisberger in the lineup.

8. Eagles 4-2 (12). Jim Schwartz's defense stole the show from Carson Wentz in manhandling of previously-unbeaten Vikings.

9. Raiders 5-2 (13). Off to their best start since 2002 thanks to a 4-0 record on the road. Just win, baby.

10. Cardinals 3-3-1 (10). Trade for Chandler Jones is looking pretty good as pass rushing combination with Markus Golden is excellent.

11. Chiefs 4-2 (14). Rookie speedster Tyreek Hill is quickly emerging as a real playmaker at wide receiver and in return game.

12. Falcons 4-3 (5). Started 5-0 last season before crashing hard. Dan Quinn is hoping this isn't a repeat after ugly home loss to Chargers.

13. Bills 4-3 (9). Four weeks after an upset in Foxborough, they play host to Tom Brady & Co.

14. Giants 4-3 (16). That ownership and upper management have allowed Josh Brown to become a side story is flabbergasting.

15. Bengals 3-4 (17). Hard to say beating the Browns will turn anything around, but at least it got Marvin Lewis' team back on the right track.

16. Lions 4-3 (18). In 16 games under coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, Matthew Stafford has completed 69 percent of his passes for 4,310 yards, 35 TDs and eight interceptions.

17. Redskins 4-3 (11). To keep pace in the NFC East where all four teams are above .500, they need to beat the Bengals in London.

18. Texans 4-3 (15). Facing his former teammates, Brock Osweiler averaged less than 3.2 yards per attempt as Texans offense went nowhere.

19. Dolphins 3-4 (24). Running back Jay Ajayi looks like a nice player for the Adam Gase rebuild.

20. Buccaneers 3-3 (23). Ex-Bear Jacquizz Rodgers has consecutive 100-yard rushing games _ the first two of his career.

21. Chargers 3-4 (25). Stadium vote for next month isn't looking good. At least they're doing better on the field.

22. Rams 3-4 (20). Jeff Fisher wants to stick with Case Keenum at quarterback and that must mean Jared Goff really isn't ready to play.

23. Colts 3-4 (28). The supporting cast for Andrew Luck showed up against Titans, and owner Jim Irsay has declared "this year isn't over."

24. Saints 2-4 (19). They would be in the thick of the NFC South race if they were not their own worst enemy so often.

25. Titans 3-4 (22). Just when you think they might be showing real signs of progress, they lose to the Colts for the 10th consecutive time.

26. Panthers 1-5 (26). After a week off to rally the troops, they get the Cardinals in a rematch of the NFC championship game.

27. Jets 2-5 (29). War of words between Ryan Fitzpatrick and the club is more entertaining than product on the field.

28. Ravens 3-4 (21). Four-game losing streak is the longest they've experienced under coach John Harbaugh.

29. Jaguars 2-4 (27). If Thursday's game in Nashville doesn't go well, have to wonder if Gus Bradley will be in serious trouble.

30. Bears 1-6 (30). Jay Cutler returning in time for Halloween start against Vikings.

31. 49ers 1-6 (31). It seems like a long time ago, but Chip Kelly won 10 games in each of his first two seasons with the Eagles. That's not going to happen here.

32. Browns 0-7 (32). Quiz: Name all six QBs to throw a pass for them this season. Answer: Robert Griffin III, Josh McCown, Terrelle Pryor, Cody Kessler, Charlie Whitehurst and Kevin Hogan.
