Brad Biggs' Week 7 NFL power rankings

Last week's ranking in parentheses.

1. Eagles 5-1 (8). Modest free-agent additions like running back LeGarrette Blount, cornerback Patrick Robinson and defensive end Chris Long have paid big dividends.

2. Chiefs 5-1 (1). The NFL's last unbeaten fell but they can get back to winning ways Thursday night at Oakland.

3. Patriots 4-2 (6). Shook off a sluggish start against Jets and now they prepare for the Falcons _ another team they started slowly against the last time they met.

4. Seahawks 3-2 (7). Coming off the bye week, it's going to be interesting to see if GM John Schneider gets in play for a veteran offensive lineman to bolster Russell Wilson's protection.

5. Steelers 4-2 (11). When the offense runs through Le'Veon Bell, the Steelers are a force that is difficult to stop _ like we saw Sunday in Kansas City.

6. Panthers 4-2 (5). The power running game with Jonathan Stewart, Christian McCaffrey and Cam Newton isn't working (3.4 yards per carry).

7. Rams 4-2 (14). It didn't take long for Wade Phillips to make a major impact. All the talk has been about coach Sean McVay's work with the offense, but the defense is legit.

8. Saints 3-2 (21). Wild victory over Lions pushed them above .500 for the first time since the end of the 2013 season _ the last year Drew Brees and Co. made the playoffs.

9. Falcons 3-2 (4). Looked like Dan Quinn's team had successfully avoided a Super Bowl hangover with a 3-0 start. Now they've lost consecutive home games to Bills, Dolphins.

10. Cowboys 2-3 (9). Looks like they're going to have to figure things out without running back Ezekiel Elliott for a while.

11. Texans 3-3 (18). They head into their week off having scored 157 points in their last four games with Deshaun Watson at the controls.

12. Broncos 3-2 (3). They look really limited against good defenses and now start a three-game road trip vs. Chargers, Chiefs, Eagles.

13. Vikings 4-2 (17). Teddy Bridgewater has been cleared to return to practice, and it's worth wondering if he gets a shot to play in another month or so.

14. Dolphins 3-2 (22). Defense has allowed only 10 points in the fourth quarter. Their rally from 17 down in Atlanta could be key point to season.

15. Lions 3-3 (10). Week off will give QB Matthew Stafford a chance to heal and the team a chance to reassess after losing three of last four.

16. Packers 4-2 (2). Even if Aaron Rodgers isn't out for remainder of season, and that's a real possibility, his injury makes NFC North and conference races very interesting.

17. Redskins 3-2 (13). They'll be without first-round defensive lineman Jonathan Allen for Monday's game in Philadelphia, and that's a real loss.

18. Bills 3-2 (15). It's been a trying season for defensive lineman Marcell Dareus. Reality is, he needs to be an elite player for them to achieve success.

19. Jaguars 3-3 (19). Everyone laughed when Leonard Fournette said the NFL was slower than he expected coming from the SEC. He has seven total touchdowns in six games.

20. Cardinals 3-3 (26). Adrian Peterson rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns in his Cards debut. That's a lot better than Emmitt Smith did in his first game for the team (64 yards, 0 TDs).

21. Jets 3-3 (23). Despite what NFL officiating boss Alberto Riveron says, it sure looked like Austin Seferian-Jenkins scored a touchdown in narrow loss to Patriots.

22. Titans 3-3 (24). Took a while to get going Monday night vs. Colts, but Marcus Mariota finally did.

23. Chargers 2-4 (28). They're finally getting tight end Hunter Henry involved in the offense, learning he's an ideal replacement for Antonio Gates.

24. Raiders 2-4 (12). They added linebacker NaVorro Bowman, but he's a shadow of his former self and their issues are rooted on offense.

25. Buccaneers 2-3 (16). Sprained AC joint in right (throwing) shoulder for QB Jameis Winston a concern for scuffling Bucs.

26. Bears 2-4 (27). They've got a leg up in the AFC North with a 2-0 record.

27. Ravens 3-3 (20). It's problematic when the best healthy players are kicker Justin Tucker and punter Sam Koch.

28. Giants 1-5 (31). The defense that was so good in 2016 finally showed up, with Jason Pierre-Paul dominating Broncos.

29. Bengals 2-3 (25). They've won two straight and had extra week to prepare for Steelers. A win at Pittsburgh would change trajectory of season. Maybe WR John Ross returns.

30. Colts 2-4 (29). Still no timetable for Andrew Luck's return, but who figured them to have two wins at this point without him?

31. 49ers 0-6 (30). San Francisco has turned to rookie QB C.J. Beathard, and why not? They've lost an NFL record five consecutive games by a field goal or less.

32. Browns 0-6 (32). DeShone Kizer was benched last week for Kevin Hogan and Hue Jackson might just flip flop this week. Does it matter?
