Brad Biggs' Week 5 NFL power rankings

Last week's ranking in parentheses.

1. Broncos 4-0 (2). Gary Kubiak says Trevor Siemian can return from shoulder injury and start Sunday in what looks to be delicious matchup with surging Falcons.

2. Vikings 4-0 (3). Blair Walsh has missed three field goals and two extra points, making you wonder if they will consider a move.

3. Patriots 3-1 (1). Now if they can just keep Tom Brady healthy while Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett heal up, everything will be fine and dandy.

4. Eagles 3-0 (4). Tight end Zach Ertz returning from rib injury will only help Carson Wentz after week off.

5. Steelers 3-1 (5). Ben Roethlisberger looked like a legitimate MVP candidate in five-touchdown bombing of Chiefs.

6. Seahawks 3-1 (7). For all the talk of O-line issues, they have allowed nine sacks. They had allowed 18 at this point last season.

7. Packers 2-1 (8). After week off, they have the Giants, Cowboys and Bears coming to Lambeau Field in a 12-day span.

8. Falcons 3-1 (18). Coach Dan Quinn says tap the brakes on Matt Ryan for MVP, but he has been nothing short of terrific.

9. Bengals 2-2 (13). The 31st-ranked red-zone offense must get substantially better.

10. Texans 3-1 (12). The rest of the AFC South is 1-3, so they might run away with the division by Thanksgiving.

11. Raiders 3-1 (15). Things are looking up for the Silver and Black. They're 3-0 on the road and have the Chargers coming to town Sunday.

12. Cowboys 3-1 (16). Powered by rookies and the best offensive line in the NFL.

13. Panthers 1-3 (6). The Super Bowl runner-up traditionally struggles the next season, and they are the latest example.

14. Chiefs 2-2 (9). They have the week off and need it to figure out some stuff after 43-14 pounding in Pittsburgh.

15. Giants 2-2 (14). Antagonizing Odell Beckham Jr. seems to be the best defense to take him out of his game.

16. Ravens 3-1 (10). Terrance West churned out 113 yards and a TD after being inserted into starting lineup, but defense didn't play up to its ranking in loss to Raiders.

17. Redskins 2-2 (20). Matt Jones ran for 117 yards in win over Browns, and a ground game is precisely what Kirk Cousins needed.

18. Rams 3-1 (21). Case Keenum's passer rating is 77.3 and Todd Gurley is averaging 2.6 yards per carry, but Gregg Williams' defense is legit.

19. Cardinals 1-3 (11). Carson Palmer looks older than 36, and his offensive line isn't helping him one bit.

20. Bills 2-2 (28). Rex Ryan can pound his chest for a week after shutting out the Patriots. It doesn't matter who was playing quarterback.

21. Jets 1-3 (17). Ryan Fitzpatrick is taking heat and for good reason, but this allegedly vaunted defense has been suspect.

22. Bears 1-3 (30). Combination of efficient passing by Brian Hoyer and effective running by Jordan Howard will give them a chance to beat Colts and Jaguars next two weeks.

23. Saints 1-3 (29). Fullback John Kuhn, 34, leads the team with three touchdowns.

24. Lions 1-3 (19). Three-game homestand begins with Eagles, and you better believe Jim Caldwell's job is very much at stake.

25. Jaguars 1-3 (31). After win in London and week off, they look at Bears, Raiders and Titans as an opportunity to get season headed in the right direction.

26. Dolphins 1-3 (22). Coach Adam Gase is a believer when it comes to quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but he must start playing better.

27. Colts 1-3 (23). Andrew Luck has been sacked 15 times, which puts him on pace for 60 _ if he doesn't get injured along the way.

28. Buccaneers 1-3 (24). Last two games were interrupted by nasty weather, causing significant delays but not enough time for adjustments that worked.

29. Titans 1-3 (25). The offense is sputtering in a major way, and that's a shame with Marcus Mariota in Year 2. Perhaps canning the special teams coach will provide a spark.

30. 49ers 1-3 (27). The defense has allowed more than 450 yards and 35 points per game the last three weeks, and now linebacker NaVorro Bowman is out for the year.

31. Chargers 1-3 (26). Mike McCoy is "furious" after they blew a 13-point lead with seven minutes to play against Saints. He's 5-15 since the start of last season and occupying a hot seat.

32. Browns 0-4 (32). They face Tom Brady in his return this week, and somehow the point spread is only 10. Seventeen seems more like it.
