Brad Biggs' Week 3 NFL power rankings

Last week's ranking in parentheses.

1. Patriots 2-0 (1). Offense keeps losing key figures and rookie third-round pick Jacoby Brissett figures to start Thursday against the Texans.

2. Steelers 2-0 (4). So far so good without running back Le'Veon Bell, who is suspended one more week.

3. Broncos 2-0 (3). They can probably handle a few weeks without DeMarcus Ware as Von Miller looks unstoppable again.

4. Panthers 1-1 (5). Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin says offense is capable of putting up 60, maybe 70 points if they play mistake-free.

5. Vikings 2-0 (10). Defense looks very good as you expected, but any time without Adrian Peterson will put pressure on Sam Bradford. Can he handle it?

6. Cardinals 1-1 (9). Bruce Arians said his players had not been doing their homework. They looked well studied in pounding of the Buccaneers.

7. Seahawks 1-1 (2). With 15 points through two games, something is wrong with the offense. Ought to be fixed against 49ers this week.

8. Texans 2-0 (12). J.J. Watt just got started against the Bears and looked like his old self against Chiefs. Now a Thursday tilt with the Patriots in New England.

9. Packers 1-1 (6). Aaron Rodgers targets struggled getting open against the Vikings.

10. Bengals 1-1 (7). Andy Dalton needs more than A.J. Green in the passing game with tight end Tyler Eifert sidelined.

11. Giants 2-0 (13). Off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2009, the free-agent-infused defense was solid against the high-powered Saints.

12. Chiefs 1-1 (8). Marcus Peters had two picks in loss to the Texans, but the pass rush isn't the same without Justin Houston.

13. Jets 1-1 (15). Revis Island is no longer a destination wide receivers fear.

14. Eagles 2-0 (23). They've started 2-0 for the third time in the last five years. It's a better look with a rookie quarterback leading the way.

15. Ravens 2-0 (17). Skeptical they'll make much noise after unimpressive wins over the Bills and Browns, but look at all those that would love to be 2-0.

16. Raiders 1-1 (11). A team that is supposed to have a breakout season shouldn't give up 35 points in a home loss to the Falcons.

17. Cowboys 1-1 (20). They won for just the second time in the last 16 games without Tony Romo, and Dak Prescott looked pretty darn good.

18. Buccaneers 1-1 (14). Five turnovers gave them no chance against the Cardinals, but the secondary was atrocious.

19. Lions 1-1 (16). It was a throwback to the Jim Schwartz era when they were penalized 17 times in a home loss to the Titans.

20. Falcons 1-1 (28). With Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman in the backfield, there are plenty of weapons for Matt Ryan. Too many for the Raiders to handle Sunday.

21. Titans 1-1 (25). When you're building from the ground up, two-touchdown rallies on the road by Marcus Mariota count for something even when it's in Detroit.

22. Chargers 1-1 (30). Last year's first-round pick, Melvin Gordon, went over 100 yards for the first time against the Jaguars and Travis Benjamin looks like a worthy replacement for Keenan Allen.

23. Dolphins 0-2 (19). Adam Gase says "almost" can't be good enough. He's right.

24. Colts 0-2 (22). They were competitive against the defending champs, but they might the feel sting of a loss in Denver for a while as five starters were knocked out.

25. Redskins 0-2 (21). The defending NFC East champs are off to a rough start after losing consecutive home games, and they blew several second-half chances against the Cowboys.

26. Jaguars 0-2 (18). When you're Gus Bradley and you go to San Diego and get your doors blown off, you're one step closer to being the Jaguars' ex-coach.

27. Saints 0-2 (26). If Sean Payton's defense holds the opposition to 16 points, his offense should score enough to win.

28. 49ers 1-1 (27). The longest current streak in the NFL for consecutive starts with a touchdown pass belongs to Blaine Gabbert at 12. Go figure.

29. Rams 1-1 (31). Bet they wish they had Carson Wentz right about now.

30. Bears 0-2 (24). It was just more than two weeks ago they convinced Josh Sitton this was a team that could compete.

31. Bills 0-2 (29). If the owners are holding meetings with players to can the offensive coordinator, that is an ominous sign for Rex Ryan.

32. Browns 0-2 (32). Josh McCown brought some respectability to the offense, but he has a shoulder injury, and rookie Cody Kessler could be next.
