Last week's ranking in parentheses.
1. Eagles 8-1 (1). Celebrated the week off by handing a big extension (four years, $48 million) to defensive tackle Tim Jernigan.
2. Patriots 7-2 (2). Martellus Bennett was going to have season-ending shoulder surgery until the Patriots claimed him on waivers.
3. Steelers 7-2 (3). They own a three-game lead in the AFC North, but with all their offensive talent, they rank just 19th in scoring at 20.8 ppg.
4. Chiefs 6-3 (5). Poised to run away with the AFC West with the Giants, Bills and Jets next up coming out of an open date.
5. Saints 7-2 (7). Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara both went over 100 rushing yards as they steamrolled the Bills 47-10.
6. Rams 7-2 (6). Robert Woods has emerged as a big-play target for Jared Goff, who has four receivers with at least three TD catches.
7. Vikings 7-2 (8). Case Keenum is likely to keep the starting job for now _ and he should _ but if he slips up, look for a move to Teddy Bridgewater soon.
8. Panthers 7-3 (9). The running game starts with Cam Newton, but preservation of the quarterback's health has to be a concern.
9. Seahawks 6-3 (10). Sunday's victory over the Cardinals came at a high cost as cornerback Richard Sherman was lost to a torn Achilles tendon.
10. Jaguars 6-3 (12). They've rolled off three straight wins and have the Browns, Cardinals and Colts coming up next. Doug Marrone's team is turning around nicely.
11. Titans 6-3 (13). They were 31st in red-zone offense entering Week 9 and are 6-for-6 since, including three touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
12. Cowboys 5-4 (4). Linebacker Sean Lee has a hamstring strain, and with three games in 11 days coming up and running back Ezekiel Elliott finally suspended, they have issues.
13. Lions 5-4 (11). Won despite surrendering 201 rushing yards to the Browns on Sunday. They'll need to tighten that up against the Bears.
14. Falcons 5-4 (15). They will likely head to Seattle for a tough test without running back Devonta Freeman, who has a concussion.
15. Packers 5-4 (26). If Brett Hundley can play like he did against the Bears, maybe they can tread water while Aaron Rodgers is out.
16. Raiders 4-5 (16). Finally broke ground Monday night on the new stadium in Las Vegas they plan to open in 2020.
17. Bills 5-4 (14). Defense collapsed flat in surrendering 298 rushing yards to the Saints.
18. Redskins 4-5 (17). Defense has played so well much of the season but simply didn't show up in a home loss to the Vikings.
19. Dolphins 4-5 (18). Jay Cutler hasn't played particularly well, and they are getting next to nothing from the running game.
20. Ravens 4-5 (21). AFC playoff race is wide open, and if they plan to be in the mix coming off the open date, it has to start with a victory at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
21. Jets 4-6 (19). There's a lot of feel-good for what Todd Bowles has done this season, but they've lost four of five now with the Panthers and Chiefs next.
22. Chargers 3-6 (20). Picked off Blake Bortles twice in the final two minutes of regulation but lost in overtime. That's when you know it's not going your way.
23. Cardinals 4-5 (24). With Drew Stanton's knee banged up, Blaine Gabbert looks to start Sunday against the Texans.
24. Bengals 3-6 (25). Coach Marvin Lewis wasn't happy with running back Jeremy Hill choosing to have season-ending ankle surgery. He's going to be a free agent, and the season is headed nowhere.
25. Bears 3-6 (23). They came out of the open date flat, and it leads you to wonder what the tone for the remainder of the season will be for John Fox's team.
26. Broncos 3-6 (22). Special teams were a mess in a blowout loss to the Patriots on Sunday night.
27. Buccaneers 3-6 (29). Six sacks of former Bucs quarterback Josh McCown helped them end a five-game losing streak.
28. Colts 3-7 (27). Andrew Luck has headed to Europe in hopes of finding a solution for his ailing right shoulder.
29. Texans 3-6 (28). Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney was one of the few bright spots in a lopsided loss to the Rams. He has a sack in three straight games.
30. 49ers 1-9 (31). C.J. Beathard might be a decent prospect and he has been gritty, but it will be time to look at Jimmy Garoppolo soon. Real soon.
31. Giants 1-8 (30). When the owners release a statement saying a decision on the coach will be made after the season, expect the GM to be fired with him.
32. Browns 0-9 (32). They stand alone in the race for the No. 1 pick after the 49ers' win.
