Boyzone star Mikey Graham says Ronan Keating refuses to do another reunion tour

Boyzone fans hopeful for a reunion in the future may be waiting a while, according to one of the band's remaining members.

Singer Mikey Graham, 49, took to Twitter over the weekend, to announce he had become a grandfather for the first time.

Chatting to fans congratulating him on his family news, the Irish singer also revealed celebrations for Boyzone's 30th anniversary in 2024 seem very unlikely to happen.

The dad-of-two admitted he would 'love' to tour with the boys again, but bandmate Ronan Keating 'decided Boyzone was finished' three years ago.

"If Boyzone do reform for a 30th anniversary tour will you be the only grandfather on tour and congratulations on becoming a grandad," one follower quipped to Mikey on Sunday, after he shared his happy news on Twitter.

Replying to his fan, the new grandad wrote: "Aw thank you so much. Don’t mean to rain on your parade but Ronan decided Boyzone was finished in 2019 so I don’t think there will be any more BZ gigs. Sorry folks. I’d love to do them."

Some fans went on to suggest that Mikey and the other two members of the band could tour 'without Ronan', with one staying hopeful, writing: "He could still change his mind, Grampzone could be a thing and I for one will be there."

The Mirror has approached representatives for Ronan Keating for comment.

Created by Louis Walsh in 1993, Boyzone's original line-up consisted of Ronan, Mikey, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and the late Stephen Gately.

By 2013, the Irish boyband had sold 25 million records worldwide - with six UK No.1 singles and nine No.1 singles in Ireland to their name.

Boyzone originally split in 1999, but reunited as a five-piece and made a comeback in 2007.

The boys continued to tour and perform together after Stephen's heartbreaking death in 2009, but called it quits once again in 2019.

Speaking last year, Ronan admitted he was in contact with his former bandmates but expressed no desire to reunite with them on stage.

"Boyzone has a Whatsapp group but it changes, because people leave all the time," The One Show presenter told Omaze UK in September 2021.

"It's the story of a boyband isn't it, people leave. Then we start a new one, and then they come back, then someone else leaves."

Ronan continued: "The Boyzone Whatsapp group changes monthly - the name, the title, the people - but it exists.

"There's plans for another Boyzone Whatsapp group, but no reunion."

Speaking in 2020, Boyzone star Keith, alongside former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, teased the the much-loved group could reunite for their 30th anniversary.

Brian, who tours with Keith under the moniker Boyzlife, told The Sun: "Though Keith and I are doing [Boyzlife] and Ronan Keating is doing his solo thing, if the opportunity comes up for the boys to get together – there is going to be a 30-year anniversary in a few years – you can never say never."
