Boyzone's Keith Duffy breaks silence after 'worst health experience' of his life

Keith Duffy has thanked medical staff in Thailand following the "worst bad health experience" of his life.

The Boyzone singer fell ill while on tour in Bangkok last week.

His fellow boyband members Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch were forced to continue their tour in Australia without the 44-year-old.

The Dubliner posted a picture on Instagram alongside the "saints" who treated him in hospital.

He said: "Two hours of a fever of 38/40 degrees With Diarrhea and Vomiting caused by contaminated food from bad hygiene in preparation!!

Boyzone star Keith Duffy rushed to hospital after falling ill while on tour in Thailand

Bandmate Lynch announced that Keith had been taken ill, while they performed in Perth.

They performed as a three piece that night, with Graham and Keating also on stage, and have announced they'll continue that way for now.

Speaking on stage, Shane said: "Unfortunately as you can see we are only three, our Keith Duffy is lost in Thailand.

"Just like the good film says, Thailand has got him now."

However, Keating confirmed that Duffy will be back for their show in Adelaide on Tuesday.

Speaking to Australian TV programme Sunrise, Keating said: "Keith got sick in Asia. He's been in hospital in Thailand for the last three days.

"So he didn't play Perth but he's back on his feet now and flying into Adelaide for tomorrow's show. But, yeah, you can get sick very easy."

Boyzone are to play five shows in Australia this week before traveling to New Zealand at the start of next week.
