BARASAT: Two boys, including a Class XI student, were run over by a train at Ashokenagar in North 24 Parganas while playing video game on their phones sitting on the railway tracks around 9.30pm on Monday.
The victims were identified as Shibam Dey (17), a Class XI student, and his friend, Souvik Das(16). Both were residents of Maniknagar of Ashokenagar.
“They were sitting on the Down railway tracks on Sealdah-Bongaon section and engrossed in video game when the accident occurred. They could not hear the whistle of the train,” said a local resident.
