Boys, aged 10 and 11, found in Manchester McDonald's at 2am after sneaking out of a sleepover for a burger

Two young boys from Greater Manchester were found by police in a McDonald's restaurant after sneaking out of their sleepover at 2am.

The 10 and 11-year-old boys were wearing onesies in McDonald's when they were found, the Manchester Evening News reports.

They were first spotted by an alarmed member of the public, who saw them walking down Blackburn Street in Radcliffe town centre, near Bury.

The woman stopped them and asked them what they were doing - they said they were on their way to McDonald's at the Riverside Retail Park, around a 5-minute walk away.

She called the police and officers later found the boys at the restaurant, although it is not clear whether they managed to order their burgers before they were picked up.

Police brought them back to the house where they were staying, and were greeted by one of their mothers, who got the "shock of her life" when she saw them, according to a Greater Manchester Police spokesman.

The boys claimed they didn't know what time it was, and the mother had no idea that they had even left the house.

No further action is being taken by the police, although the pair are unlikely to be having another sleepover any time soon.
